I'm posting my question once more since I misspelled the title. Her it is againg:

I have a lucent win modem

I had problems that it would dissconnect after negotiating. I then reinstalled the modem and Winfaxpro 10.02. (Used this program for many years with no problems)

Now when I connect I can hear the modem but as soon as the other modem seams to give its signal my modem says "BUSY" and hangs up. Now it doesnt even negotiate anymore.

This problem is also when I use the microsoft faxmanager.
I have no problems in receiving a fax.

Is this a configuration problem or is my modem defect. The modem is about 1 year old.

Sounds like when you re-installed the modem, the country settings were changed so it no longer is set to operate in your country.
Change the country code -
www.modemsite.com/56k/ltwin9.asp

AT%T19,0,country_code in HEX
Switzerland D
= AT%T19,0,D
Use Hyperterminal connected direct to modem COM port
www.modemsite.com/56k/x2-hyperterm.asp
