I modified and configured the Modem properties on Windows manually to COM 1 to 4 (BIOS setting set to Disabled). The program operates under DOS environment that recognizes COM 1-4 but the Modem always uses COM 5.
Are there anymore ways or command that can make this modem to operates under DOS environment?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Asta la Vista!

What brand/model modem do you have?
If the modem creates its own virtual COM port, you may have problem.
Some older USR PCI modems default to COM5, but can also be accessed via COM4.

Aloha! Richard.
