gzulauf Tl Posts: 1 Guyana	Posted - 9/19/2006 6:05:25 PM I live in a remote area of South America and am having difficulty connecting to an ISP via the built-in modem on my Dell. I am able to connect via a PCMCIA modem that I also have. The built-in modem seems to be unable to handshake or negotiate the modulation. It will dial, begin to modulate, then wait awhile making no noise, and then disconnect. The PCMCIA modem connects normally. I am dialing up to a CO that has a satellite link to the capital city where my ISP resides.
