I have an "Agere Systems PCI Soft Modem". It must be that "sv92p" variety because it requires the driver versions 2.1.xx. The modem works very reliably but here is an interesting tidbit. I've migrated to a Windows XP OS and Windows Update recently suggested updating to an available (signed?) driver version 2.1.65, and I permitted that update to download and install. I'm using LtMoh version 1.77. Under the new driver 2.1.65, modem-on-hold didn't work at all. So I rolled back to a version 2.1.41 for some reason (um, it was there), and LtMoh doesn't work under that driver either. But the driver version 2.1.73 that I got from modemsite.com corrects the problem. (I guess that's what version I was using originally.) I am a little surprised about these unexpected twists and turns. Touchy touchy! And the v2.1.73 driver isn't even 'signed'.

The drivers supplied by Microsoft on Windows Update have modem-on-hold/V.92 disabled. All of the driver versions at Modemsite have V.92/MoH ENabled.

Aloha! Richard.
