I am trying to use some autodialling software with my HP tablet PC containing an Agere A97 modem in conjunction with a telephone connected on the same line. When I pick up the telephone and then use the pc phonedialler, when connected, whilst I can carry on a conversation on the telephone, I get an intermittent beep during the converstion which disappears after 2-3 minutes. Is there any way of stopping this beep or changing how long the beeping lasts for. Or is this perhaps a characteristic of the modem. (Agere Systems AC 97).
