My ISP is Earthlink and I continuallly get disconnected. Ther solution to the problem is to "Call your modem manjfacturer and have them add a modem string in the modem properties.This is a command that will help speed up the connection and help stabilize the connection." I have a Lucent Win Modem. I have no idea what they are suggesting. Hellp!

They didn't give you accruate or good advice.

if you want some more ideas here, you'll need to post your modemlog and your modem's post-call diagnostics after you've been disconnected - see

www.modemsite.com/56k/x2-hyperterm.asp - use Hyperterminal to get the diagnostics.
